Channel 4's social affairs correspondent Victoria Macdonald reports on the Townend Inquiry which revealed a history of ‘criminal assault’ and mental and physical mistreatment of children at the St James and St Vedast schools. She interviews former pupils as well as David Boddy the current Headteacher of the Senior Boys School and Graham Skelcey from the Executive Committee of the School of Economic Science (SES). The SES directly ran St James and St Vedast schools when the abuse occurred.
No apologies were made by the schools or the SES in the report and David Boddy confirmed that no further action was being taken against the teachers named in the Inquiry who are still teaching at St James.
